BUCHANAN PARK WELSH BLACK CATTLE STUD

Breeders of Quality Welsh Black Cattle

In 2000, Owners Allan & Jill Furborough established Buchanan Park Welsh Black cattle stud. We are situated in the picturesque rolling hills of Tynong Nth, in West Gippsland Victoria.

To improve the quality of our cattle the stud continues to introduce new genetics into its breeding program. We aim to breed quality Welsh Black bulls and females with excellent muscle growth, correct structure and with a quiet temperament. Quality and presentation remain key priorities of the stud.

Buchanan Park has produced an impressive like of Royal Melbourne & Adelaide show Champions since 2002. The stud has been awarded Most successful Welsh Black exhibitor on several occasions. Numerous Interbreed Championship ribbons have also been won by the stud at various agricultural shows throughout Victoria.

We have proudly presented ouf Quality Welsh Black Cattle at shows and field days. Our stud is committed to promoting the Welsh Black breed with the utmost of pride.

Buchanan Park is extremely proud of our fabulous success at the 2013 National Beef held in Bendigo. With over 400 head of all beef breeds represented at this significant event, out Welsh Black female, Buchanan Park Nicole with her heifer calf at foot, was award ''The Interbreed Supreme Exhibit in Show. This will go down in history as a wonderful achievement for the Welsh Black Breed. Also at this same event Buchanan Park took out the Interbreed Best 3 Head of Cattle award. An extremely satisfying day for our stud winning these prestige awards.

The stud continues to showcase their cattle at many shows and are still extremely successful, winning many Interbreed Supreme Exhibits, Best pair bulls, females, groups of 3head.

In 2022, the highlight for Buchanan Park was winning the Berwick & District Ag shows On Farm Challenge, with a young 15mth old Junior Bull. Buchanan Park Ringo was crowned the overall Grand Champion from the 5 classes offered in the Competition. Ringo was also a successful member of our recent 2022 local show team. Our Welsh Black cattle are admired by many when we venture out.

Welsh Blacks have excelled in carcass competitions and continue to produce 'Tender, Tasty and Succulent' beef required to satisfy todays Trade requirements.

Buchanan Park has currently Bulls for Sale, Females are available throughout the year when available.
